This past Christmas as I watched my 4-year-old granddaughter opening gifts, I was taught (or rather reminded) of something very important.....less is more. The first couple of gifts she was so excited for. But after around gift #5, she lost interest. She became a bit overwhelmed and pretty much just shut down. She went through the motions of opening the gifts, but that was it. All the excitement and joy had left her.
I've seen this with other photography clients as well. They get so many pictures from their session that they become overwhelmed with it all. They are excited at first, but then soon become too overwhelmed to make any decisions as to what to do with them. So they let them float around in the digital atmosphere and all the time and effort and expense that went into those pictures became meaningless. Digital images have that "here today, gone tomorrow" feel about them. They are enjoyed for a brief moment, but then quickly get swallowed up amidst the barrage of all the other digital images out there.
That's where I am a bit different from other photographers. I'm here to help narrow down the top favorites and decide what type and size of prints would look best in your home. Maybe it's a canvas, maybe it's a framed print, or maybe it's an album. Whatever it is, it will be a physical, tangible product made of the highest quality that will be important enough to display and look at every day.
Now, don't get me wrong....I'm not saying there's no need for digital images. I totally think there is a place and a need for them. I feel it is important that they are posted and shared. What I am saying, is there is so much more! What I am saying is that investing in quality, framed prints brings so much more joy and happiness and meaning to each person in those pictures. And that is the type of joy that won't get lost out in the digital ether. That is the type of joy that lasts. That is the type of joy I offer my clients.
