CONGRATULATIONS!
The birth of a child is one of those times you definitely want to remember! Finding the right photographer who can capture the best poses and lighting and still keeps the baby’s safety first and foremost can be a challenge. But guess what?....you’ve found her! Jane has photographed newborns for the past 10 years. There is a special set of skills when it comes to photographing newborns that is different than any other type of photography…and Jane has these mastered.
"Jane is one of the most creative yet simple photographers I know. I absolutely love her work and her patience. She took photos of my newborn for me and they are still some of my favorite pictures. I have some on display when you enter my house, and am always receiving compliments on them. I can’t wait to have her take more pictures of my family!"

FAQ
When should I book my newborn session?
Contacting us around the beginning of your last trimester is a good time. Earlier is fine as well. We will make a tentative booking according to your due date, then when the baby actually arrives, give us a call so we can adjust the date if needed. You can contact us later, as well. But to ensure we have space available, you'll want to contact us as soon as possible.
The best time to photograph a newborn baby is when they are under 2 weeks old. Ideally sometime between 5-10 days is preferred. I can and will photograph babies if they are older than 2 weeks; however, they are a bit more stiff and alert and we may not get some of the typical newborn shots that you are used to seeing.
How long do newborn sessions take?
The full newborn session can take anywhere between 2-4 hours. It’s all up to the baby and how they react to the wrapping and posing. They are the boss! This also gives plenty of time for feeding and cuddling as needed. I don’t rush or force anything. I am totally baby-driven during the session. Their comfort and safety are my number one priority.
Do I need to be photographed with my baby?
No, you don’t. But I do highly recommend that you do. I know you aren’t feeling very ‘photo-worthy’ after just having a baby. But guess what? It doesn’t matter to your child! And let’s be honest, that’s who these pictures are all about….them. This is literally a once in a lifetime opportunity you’ll have to be photographed with your child as small as they are. Don’t pass it up! Plus, I know the best way to pose and light you so you are looking your absolute best!
