Did you practice your good posture like we talked about in the last blog post? Standing tall, rolling your shoulders back? You should try it even when you are sitting. You’ll perk up and feel more confident. People around you will pay closer attention to you. It’s amazing how such a simple thing can make such a big difference in how you feel about yourself.
So you’ve mastered how to set that base. You’re feeling pretty good, then you realize…..Uh Oh! What about my face? Where do I look? Do I smile or not? Ugh! I hope my photographer doesn’t make me do something weird!
WHAT ABOUT THE FACE?
-
Eyes…Typically, you don't want to be staring at each other from a very close distance as this isn't a very natural look. More often than not, it doesn't look very comfortable. However, many photographers will have you do this, because they don’t know what else to do. I often will pose my clients with their eyes and noses facing at different angles. Or if they are facing toward each other in a close proximity, their eyes will be closed.
-
Nose…As with the eyes, you usually don't want them pointing toward each other. Again, there are times when this may work. Like if you are resting on each other's foreheads and noses are touching….that can be a nice look as long as your eyes are closed.
-
Mouth…Don't say cheese, please! You are in love….your natural smiles will come through as you think of each other and not the photographer. Don't overthink it and don't stress in front of the camera. RELAX. A good photographer will be able to help you relax and give you cues to get some authentic expressions from you.
Eyes and noses are pointed at different angles. Smile is sweet and authentic.
While they are facing toward each other, their eyes are closed. Don’t they look amazing? Just drinking in the scent and essence of each other. So in love!
